Beverley White
I was born in Salford and, in 1978 after four years at Salford College of Technology, completed a course in Graphic Design. My special interests were in illustration and Natural History, inspired by Charles Tunnicliffe illustrations and Henry Williamson’s nature stories.
Wood engraving began in 1989 at Carlisle College of Art and Design with thorough and thought-provoking instruction by Christopher Cunliffe (former SWE member). I continue printmaking in lino and wood engraving, mostly natural history subjects, a lot of time is spent looking at the ground while walking and then filling pockets with bits and pieces.
In 2024 a house-move from Cumbria to Gwynedd meant a change to regular haunts for specimens, with a lot to be discovered in afresh landscape.
In 2024 I became a member of the SWE, very lucky .
