Kate Dicker
Kate trained at Camberwell College of the Arts (1980-83) where printmaking, drawing and wood engraving were significant subjects.
Her tutor, John Lawrence, taught her wood engraving and his spontaneous approach inspired her own engraving.
Kate has worked as an illustrator and exhibited nationally and was elected a member of SWE in 1997 when she joined the committee to promote courses and workshops. Now, re-joined, she has become the administrator for The Rawlinson Bequest.
In 2001 she was chosen for the Southern Arts Residency in Tuscany.
Given this opportunity she felt able to develop her engraving further from observations of the winter landscape.
Kate continued to study at Winchester School of Art in Art History of the Modern Period and later a MA in Fine Art Printmaking. In 2009 she became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers at Bankside Gallery where she exhibited regularly and became a committee member for several years.
Kate continues to teach wood engraving at various printmaking studios and mentors an on-going Master Class in Hampshire.
