Judith Cole

Judith Cole was born in Much Wenlock, Shropshire and studied Graphic Design at Birmingham College of Art and Design. She then had a career as a Graphic Designer in London working for the British Council. After the birth of her son, she worked as a Freelance Illustrator, and moved to Somerset.

She now lives in Wiltshire. In 2024 she was elected as a member of the Society of Wood Engravers. Judith has continued to make and exhibit prints and drawings, working in a variety of media including etching, linocut and wood engraving. She loves the clarity of line inherent in relief printing, and the uncompromising quality of working in pure black and white. She is inspired by walks along the River Avon, and by gazing out of the window on long train journeys.
