Masha Tiplady
Masha Tiplady is an Edinburgh-based wood engraver and linocut artist. She creates intricate prints, where the tonal values and textures are achieved by experimenting with various mark-making.
Masha works from a small garden studio and prints all of her work using an antique Albion press. Nature and plants frequently feature in Masha’s work, she’s particularly inspired by the local landscape of Edinburgh Southside/Holyrood. Other recurring subjects are mythology, world folklore and story-telling.
Masha is an elected member of The Society of Wood Engravers and vice chair of Printmakers of Scotland.
